No doubt, this is exciting news for all fans of Harry. Since the series was announced, there has been much speculation, with way too few details to satisfy eager ears.
Here is what we know so far.
The series will be called, Fantastic Beasts and where to find them, and will be loosely based on the book of the same name which served as a companion to the Harry Potter series back in 2001.
The original book was only 54 pages long, and was more of a "text book" than a story, so J.K. Rowling herself, will be adapting it into a screenplay.
The movies will follow the adventures of Newt Scamander, a magizoologist (student of magical animals), and will take place in New York City about 70 years before the events of Harry Potter.
Warner Brother's Studios plans on reusing many of the sets from the Harry Potter films.
On the heels of this announcement has been news of progress in the extended Potter-centric theme park in Orlando.
Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson are reuniting to film a special scene for an attraction called, Escape from Gringotts. This will be a fast paced ride, which will allow fans to "live through" one of the most gripping scenes from the final Potter book and movie.
In addition to this, Universal Studios will be opening an area of the park called, Diagon Alley. Fans of the books and movies will know that Diagon Alley is an important destination for Harry and his friends before leaving for Hogwarts.
