February is Black History Month. It is from Wednesday, February 1 - Wednesday, March 1. Black History Month honors all Black people from all periods of U.S history. There are many ways that you can celebrate Black History Month:
1) Check out books from the library! Read books and poems by Black writers-- and then discuss them!
2) Watch a movie and/or a documentary about the Black experience. Did you know that you can check out Rokus at the Syosset Library? Netflix and Hulu have special collections of streaming movies for Black History Month, which we have on our Rokus!
3)Dive deeper. Explore our many online databases via our website to learn more about Black History Month!
