Make & Learn Kits

Have you heard about our Make & Learn Kits?  Inspired by STEAM, Coding and the Maker Movement, each Kit includes a hands-on experience to encourage curiosity, learning, invention, and experimentation for your child!  We currently have 16 different Kits to offer:

Squigz – Squigz are a species all their own. They flex. They stick. They suck people into creativity. Ages 3+

Automobile Engineer – Using a big and vibrant collection of bulky building parts, kids get to create ten amazing vehicles that each teach another basic concept of engineering. Ages 3+

Code-a-Pillar – Inspires little learners to be big thinkers by encouraging preschoolers to arrange the easy-to-connect segments in endless combinations. Ages 3-6

MOBIUS Magnetic Blocks – Unique tiles attract on all sides, allowing for endless creative, freeform 3-D configurations. Ages 3-8

Code & Go Robot Mouse – The race is on to build hands-on coding skills. Build your maze, and the use the coding cards to create a step-by-step path for Colby, the Programmable Robot Mouse. Ages 4+

Gears! Gears! Gears Robot Factory – Mix, match and create your own land of colorful robots! Robots are interchangeable and can be connected onto gears or stacked tougher for creative building fun. Ages 4+

Mental Blox – Lets children stack, pattern and match the multicolor shapes to help them practice following verbal instructions, asking questions and building critical-thinking skills. Ages 5+

Rocktopus – Helps kids explore a variety of musical styles while learning about different instruments, rhythmic patterns, and more. Ages 3-6

Snap Circuits Jr. – This innovative kit contains over 30 color-coded, real circuit components that snap together to create working electronic circuits and devices. Ages 8+

STEM Force & Motion Activity Set – Explore the science of “how things go” as you conduct investigations, solve problems, and explore early engineering. Ages 5+

STEM Playground Engineering & Design Activity Set – Plan, design, and then build a seesaw, a swing set, a slide and so much more! Use the activity cards to direct the play, or simply allow kids to explore open-ended building possibilities. Ages 5+

STEM Simple Machines Activity Set – Discover engineering wonders through scientific exploration with engaging tools and hands-on activities. Ages 5

Q-Ba-Maze 2.0 Big Box – A unique system of colorful cubes that interlock to form a marble run. You can create thrilling maze sculptures in the form of animals, geometric shapes or any other design! Ages 5+

Ozobot Bit Coding Robot – Ozobot bit is the educational coding robot; start learning to code with colors with the award-winning STEAM toy. Ages 6+

Snap Circuits Light – This innovative kit contains over 55 color-coded, real circuit components that snap together to create working electronic circuits and devices. Ages 8-15

Snap Circuits Sound – Learn all about sound and how it is made and heard. Build more than 185 projects to help demonstrate the principles of sound. Ages 8-15

Kits are located right by the Children's Reference Desk and can be checked out for up to 2 weeks.  If you have any questions, please ask a Children's Librarian and they will be happy to assist you.
