With much sadness, we bid a fond farewell to Donald Sobol, the author of the popular children's series, "Encyclopedia Brown."
The mystery series featured a young boy detective who's vast wealth of knowledge gave way to his nickname, "Encyclopedia." He was able to use these skills to solve many cases. The series debuted in 1963 and went on to become both a comic strip in newspapers as well as a television series on HBO in the 80's. Sobol was 87 and will be missed. Encyclopedia, however will carry on his name for generations to come.
