Art, Nutrition, and Punk'd Out Farm Animals

We've got it all here in the Children's Room. You might even say we're "creative", especially when it comes to our programs and our patrons. Here are a few things we think you might like to know about:

Visit the Artist - Art specialist, Tina Geller, will be here on Thursday 7/23 and 7/30 from 7pm-8pm. This program provides children entering grades 3-5 with an introduction to the works of Claude Monet and Pablo Picasso. The fee is $5. Registration is limited.

Nutrition 101 Back to Basics: Are you frustrated trying to be creative with nutrition at mealtime? Do you want to cook more but you don't know where to begin? Nutritionist Madeline Berg will be here to guide and inform adults on Thursday 7/16 at 2:30pm. The program is free.

Need a fun summer read that'll get your little one's laughing and singing? Author illustrator, Jarrett Krosoczka (one of our favorites), takes Old MacDonald to new heights with his punked out animals in his picture book, Punk Farm. Thanks to our friends at the Rockville Center Kids' Center Blog for their links to the video as well as Jarrett's blog for more on this fabulously funny (and talented) author. And for your older readers, check out his anticipated new graphic novel series Lunch Lady due out in late July.

We look forward to seeing you!
