Labor Day

Hello friends,

Let's talk about Labor Day!

Labor Day is an American federal holiday that celebrates the economic and social contributions of American workers. Labor Day also symbolizes the end of summer. It is often celebrated with family picnics, parties, parades and atheltic events.

There are many safe and fun ways to celebrate Labor Day:

1) Check out a book from the library about Labor Day. We have many books about Labor Day. Check our catalog at https://catalog.syossetlibrary.org/. Here are some of our favorite Labor Day reads:

2) Check out a "thing" from the Library of Things. Whether its a rainbow sprinkler, a Roku, or a Go Pro, these items will be sure to bring smiles and fun to your family. For Syosset school district residents only, you can check the availability of "things"  here: https://syossetlibrary.assabetinteractive.com/library-of-things/by-object-type/

3)  Visit a state park.  Did you know that the Syosset Library has passes to many state parks and museums. For more information, click on:  https://www.syossetlibrary.org/museum-pass-program

Have a nice weekend, friends!
