June is LGBTQ Pride Month!

This June marks the fifty first celebration of Pride Month. Pride Month is when the world's LGBTQ communities come together and celebrate the freedom to be who you are. Many people join in on the celebrations as a way of showing support for the LGBTQ community as well. 

There are many ways to celebrate Pride Month. We've put together some ideas that you can do in your community!

1) Check out our LGBTQ collection at the library. From fiction to nonfiction, we have a diverse collection of books on LGBTQ. Here are some of our favorites:

2) Netflix and chill.  All month long, Netflix will have a page devoted to Pride Month including documentaries, TV shows, movies, GLAAD aware nominees and much more!

3) Attend a Pride parade or festival. The Long Island Pride festival will be held on Sunday, June 13, 2021 at Eisenhower Park. For more information, visit https://prideonthebeach.org/
