Cupcakes and Beach Balls

On Monday we held another one of our ever-popular Cupcakes and Crafts classes. The kids decorated beach-themed cupcakes using blue icing, Gummy Life Savers, Extreme Sour Belts, Teddy Grahams,and cocktail umbrellas. Check out some of their creations below:



For the Crafts part of the class, they each got to decorate their own flip-flop beach balls. Here are the kids hard at work:

What are you reading now?

Did you just read a great book? An awful book? Either way, we would love to hear about it! You can submit book reviews online at the library’s homepage. Just go to the following link and click on Review a Book:

http://www.syossetlibrary.org/kids/books

All you have to do is enter your first name (no last names please), your age, the title and author of the book and write a brief review of why you liked or didn’t like the book. Then, submit it.

Give us a little time and then, everyone can read your review online! Kids love to hear about great books from other kids. You’ll be famous!

Lets Party!!

As everyone knows we are celebrating our 50th anniversary this summer! On Friday, July 8th the children's room will be celebrating with their very own party hats. From 2 to 4pm you can bring your child into the library and have them decorate a party hat for this special occasion. For all ages through Grade 5. Hope to see you there!!
